The Universe Will Conspire
18 May
In my 20s, I read a ton of self-help books, perhaps too many. And though I’ve forgotten much of what I read, there is a statement that has stuck with me: the universe will conspire to help those who pursue their passion.
It took me quite some time to fully commit to a filmmaking career. In search of security via traditional careers, I denied my passion to create until I could no longer stand it. I was a first-year law student when I finally realized that I had to face my fears and pursue filmmaking, thus, I dropped out of school and returned home to Los Angeles to make films.
Believe me, a ton of fear still lurks in my mind; however, now that I’m fully committed to making my first feature film and taking bold steps in actualizing it, the universe definitely seems to be conspiring to help me.
For instance, my top choice as producer for my film, Jen Dornbush, agreed to the job. I didn’t have to look any further. And recently, a woman I envision to play a mother character in my film expressed to someone else that she would be willing to play a “mother” in any of my future films. She literally said mother without any knowledge of the part in my film!
A lot of other incredible things have been happening regarding my film. Whether the universe is conspiring or not, all I know is that I am finally pursuing my passion and it feels great!
